from the festival is pure wilderness so the water is free
of pollution. Watch for beaver, foxes, and clams! Bring a
raft or rent an inner-tube on site at the food vendor at the
top of the hill. Launch at Main Stage and get out at the Beach
- it's a 30 minute float through nature and only a 10 minute

'Putting Play to Work' with
Michael Garfield (USA)
How is beauty practical? How does an understanding of human
moral development inform the role of the artist –
as an occupation, and also as a dimension in everyone's being?
Faced with global challenges, how can we wield entertainment
and the arts to make meaning for the highest good?
In a special conversation led by integral scholar and performance
artist Michael Garfield,
we will explore the potency of art as skillful means and examine
how integral leadership,
applied through creative media, can constructively connect
the good, the true, the beautiful, and the functional.
Does Evolution have a Direction? with Michael Garfield (USA)
Is evolution going somewhere specific, or just wandering aimlessly?
Can science help resolve the conflict between these perspectives?
In this special presentation by independent evolutionary theorist
Michael Garfield,
learn about how evolution is both directional and aimless,
why evolution favors smarts and sociality, and where we might
be headed. http://evolution.bandcamp.com/album/entheon-biology-symposium-2009
